ACT Appeal Rapid Response Fund 2005 - RRF- 5

Total Appeal Target : US$ 750,000

Balance Requested from ACT Network: 738,743.09

Geneva, 6 January 2005

Dear Colleagues,

During 2004, the ACT Rapid Response Fund assisted 26 ACT implementing members to save lives in sudden emergencies, providing financial assistance ranging from US$4,000 to US$50,000.

The purpose of the ACT Rapid Response Fund is to provide resources up to USD 50,000 to meet urgent requests by local churches and other members to save lives in sudden emergencies resulting from natural disasters or from human made disasters. RRF is also utilised to advance resources needed to save lives in situations where an appeal has been issued but funds have not yet been forthcoming. The ACT RRF is administered by the ACT Coordinating Office in Geneva according to the general ACT policy framework and operational guidelines.

This year we are seeking your contributions to build the fund up to US$750,000. On December 31, 2004 the balance for the ACT RRF was only US$ 11,256.91. Therefore, we are kindly urging you to contribute to this appeal to enable us to continue assisting ACT members to save lives.
