Sudan: Watery diarrhea cases reported in Bahr el-Ghazal

The Minister of Health in Northern Bahr el-Ghazal State, Akon Bol Akok, told Miraya FM that cases of watery diarrhea have been reported in the State following the rains and floods in some areas of Northern Bahr el-Ghazal. The Minister added that samples will be tested for Cholera. On the other hand, the Federal Ministry of Health has announced it will enact laws related to women's welfare and encouragement of natural breastfeeding.

The laws will include offering of maternal leave and breastfeeding hours.

Tabitha Butrus, Federal Minister of Health stressed while addressing the National breastfeeding week celebration in Al Jazzera that breastfeeding should be encouraged as the basis for healthy childhood.
