Sudan: War affected Commission in South registers data of more than 80,000 persons

The chairperson of the Southern Sudan Commission for war disabled persons, widows and orphans Danny Daw Danny said that they registered data of more than (80,000) fighters who were killed during the civil war between the north and the south that continued for more than two decades.

Danny told Miraya FM that the data does not include those who died from hunger and diseases, adding that the commission is committed with its duty to design programs and to accomplish policies of the Government of Southern Sudan that are meant to provide support to war victims.

Danny also said that the time has come for the commission to compensate the war victims and that Government of Southern Sudan is ready to assist them.
