Sudan: Humanitarian Snapshot (30 November 2013)
A total of 6.1 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in Sudan. These needs are driven by a series of inter-related trends, including conflict, insecurity, environmental conditions and displacement. Some 2.6 million people are either refugees or internally displaced people. In the first half of 2013, 450.000 people have been newly displaced due to conflict and fighting in Darfur, Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile. Flooding affected at least 430.000 people. This snapshot represents figures of people in need of humanitarian assistance and provides information on Sudanese refugees in neighbouring countries.
