HIGHLIGHTS

  • No agreement yet on a temporary cessation of hostilities in South Kordofan and Blue Nile to allow polio vaccinations for children under five.

  • International support for the Government’s flood response efforts continue, as the Government revises the number of “affected” people to 340,000.

  • At least 18,000 displaced people in camps in Darfur have been badly affected by flooding and are in urgent need of assistance.

  • A peace agreement between the Reizegat and Ma'aliya tribes was signed in Darfur on 22 August.
