Highlights

  • Sudanese pastoralists may soon start crossing the border to South Sudan with their livestock following a reconciliation meeting between nomads and the SPLA this week

  • A UNAMID-escorted convoy in Darfur carrying IDPs from Zalingei to Nyala was held up by an armed group who abducted all 31 passengers

  • Over 1,500 people of South Sudanese origin have been assisted to move from Khartoum to Malakal in South Sudan

  • Inter-tribal fighting has forced some 3,200 people to flee their homes in Darfur over the past week

  • In 2012, humanitarian organizations assisted 3.3 million people in Sudan to have access to improved water supply
