Executive Summary

- Distributions from the NFI Common Pipeline supported 12,054 households in September with 36,410 non-food items (NFIs) and emergency shelter (ES) from the NFI Common Pipeline in Darfur. Of these 93% were IDPs requiring replenishment, 4% were newly displaced, and 3% were disaster affected.

- The NFI & ES Sector component of the 2010 UN & Partners Work Plan is in its final stages of development. In total in North Sudan, the Sector expects to provide essential household items to 280,000 conflict- and disaster-affected households, including returnees, based on assessed needs.

2010 UN & Partners Work Plan

The NFI & ES Sector component of the 2010 UN & Partners Work Plan is in its final stages of development. Objectives were agreed in consultation with Sector partners and 31 projects have been developed and submitted. When combined, the projects create a cohesive and comprehensive plan to effectively and efficiently deliver the agreed objectives.

In total in North Sudan, the Sector expects to provide essential household items to 280,000 conflict- and disaster-affected households, including returnees, based on assessed needs. Additionally, over 22,000 households are expected to be supported with environmentally-friendly shelter.

The consolidated Sector plan must still be presented to the Humanitarian Coordinator, HAC and donors for review and comment. With questions, please email sudan@unjlc.org.
