The Sudanese Air force reportedly bombed the region of East Jebel Marra on the second day of the Eid el Adha.

Witnesses from East Jebel Marra told Radio Dabanga that an Antonov dropped several bombs in the area north of Dulma and west of Sherfa on Wednesday at around 2.15pm. The bombardments set ablaze some places in the area and killed dozens of cattle. No casualties were reported.

On the same day government forces stationed in the area of Tabit started firing their heavy weapons and artillery indiscriminately from the morning onwards, provoking fear and horror among the villagers in the area.

The villagers of East Jebel Marra criticised the continuous bombardments on the area, even during the Eid. They demanded, via Radio Dabanga, the attention of “the international community, the UN, the Security Council, human rights organisations and criminal courts” to what is happening in East Jebel Marra, and to act for the protection of civilians “who are exposed to non-stop air raids.”
