HIGHLIGHTS

  • As of 31 March 2014, 199,268 people were newly displaced in Darfur following a wave of violence involving Government security forces and armed movements.

  • Aid agencies have had some form of access to 132,000 of the newly displaced people in Darfur, accounting for about 66 per cent of the people who remain displaced

  • According to humanitarian organisations, about 106,600 newly displaced and affected people in Darfur received some form of assistance, including food aid and non - food relief supplies.

  • As of 25 March 2014, between 59,000 and 61,000 people from South Sudan had sought refuge in Sudan.
