Hon. Basi Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development declared open the new housing scheme at Nelsonpura in Trincomalee district on 29 February 2012.

Nelsonpura new house scheme has been built for the benefit of Tsunami-affected families. This house complex has 80 Housing units and the total cost of this project is Rs. 120 million.

Senior Minister A.H.M. Fowzie, Rear Admiral Mohan Wijewickrama, Eastern Province governor, Hon. Susantha Punchinilame, Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources also participated at this occasion.
