Overview of Weekly Activities

Unity State

Pariang—Jamjang Road:

• Equipment mobilized by contractor: to date: 2 excavators, 1 front-end loader, 1 grader, 1 roller, & 2 tippers.

• Murram extraction and processing on road continued in the week.

Lakes State

Mingkaman IDP settlement sites:

• Drainage excavation and installation of pre-cast concrete pipe culverts in road crossings progressed satisfactorily in all 3 campsites.

• Installation of drainage pipe culverts along sections of road to helipad progressed and road surface works completed.

• The requested extra-road works within Mingkaman township progressed in the week.

• Construction of humanitarian hub was sub-stantially complete.

• Preparation for handing-over of completed works (i.e. perimeter and internal roads in all three campsites) started in the week.

Central Equatoria State

Protection of Civilians (PoC) site extension works at PoC 3 in Juba :

• All internal civil works completed & reloca-tion of IDPs progressed. Local labor at sites

• 12 male and two female labourers have worked as operators (male) and cooks/compound management (female) at Ming-kaman IDP sites.

Health and safety

• UNOPS ensures that the workers on site are provided with adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
