Somalia situation update issue 2 - Clashes in Kismayo, Lower Juba | 2 July 2013
At least 50 people killed, 150 others wounded following renewed armed clashes between political rivals in Kismayo in southern Somalia from 28 to 30 June; 1,604 people displaced cumulatively in June.
One humanitarian aid worker killed and another seriously wounded.
A planned polio campaign in Kismayo district disrupted; other humanitarian activities suspended.
As of 2 July, the situation was calm; businesses and some humanitarian operations had resumed.
