Positive developments seen in Somalia despite humanitarian crisis
There’s cause for optimism in Somalia despite the ongoing drought and conflict ….that’s according to Augustine Mahiga, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative on Somalia.
The Horn of Africa country, hasn’t had a properly functioning government for over two decades but is due to hold elections in a year’s time.
On Wednesday, Mr Mahiga told the Security Council that the situation there is improving; but he said “difficult times” lie ahead.
