Guinea and Sierra Leone – Cholera crisis Situation Report No. 2 (as of 17 September 2012)
The cholera epidemic in Sierra Leone and Guinea has eased, with both countries reporting decreasing number of new cases for three weeks in a row.
A total of 25,107 cases and 392 deaths were reported as of 16 September (end of Week 37)
Additional funding has been provided from Finland to IFRC to help tackle the outbreak in Sierra Leone.
However, there is still a $4.35 million funding gap.
IFRC is launching new appeals for both countries and a new request for additional CERF funding is being finalized in Guinea
