EMERCOM Deputy Minister Vladimir Puchkov took part in a meeting in Saransk relating to steps to restore life-line services for people affected by floods

Mordovia citizens affected by the floods will receive first indemnities as soon as possible.

“This meeting is the direct order by the Chairman of the Government Vladimir Putin. I ask everybody to focus their attention on the people, to make lists of families and people whose property was affected by floods. First indemnities should be received by the end of next week”, - said Mr. Puchkov.

The deputy minister also noted that children in affected territories did not attend schools due to floods and this problem should be solved.

“The flood situation in the region is difficult, but stable. It is necessary to visit all houses and find out about provision with medicines and pensions”, - Mr. Puchkov said.

On Sunday a laboratory and an assessment group will start working in affected areas to assess the state of social facilities, healthcare in the first place.

In three districts the water is subsiding. Round-the-clock posts will be set up in affected areas to provide assistance including informational one to the people.

At present, 1,128 houses resided by 1,831 people including 198 children, in 4 municipal districts, 12 settlements remain flooded due to high water level in the rivers Alatyr, Seitma and Moksha.
