I. SITUATION OVERVIEW

• On 15 January 2013, the tail end of a cold front affected Mindanao and some of its provinces reported flashflood incidents due to continuous heavy downpour of rain. Consequently, fifteen (15) barangays in Davao City and the Municipality of Tubod were placed under state of calamity

• As a result, families were displaced and were forced to take temporary shelter in evacuation centers, while some opted to stay with relatives in safer areas

• The floodings damaged agricultural and private properties in Regions XI and CARAGA

• Moreover, some roads and bridges in Regions XI and CARAGA were deemed impassable due to floodings and damages. Also, some barangays are still having power interruptions

• Several schools in Regions Xl, XII and ARMM suspended their classes since the classrooms were flooded, while some are used as evacuation centers

• As of reporting time, the weather disturbance left ten (10) dead, eight (8) injured and three (3) missing persons
