Philippines: Typhoon Bopha Situation Report No. 4 (as of 7 December 2012)

I. HIGHLIGHTS

-Typhoon Bopha (locally known as Pablo) continues to move northwest of the Philippines; it is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by 8 December morning.

-Humanitarian consequences of Bopha are slowly emerging as rescue operations reach affected areas and communications are restored.

-Some 213,470 people remain in 308 evacuation centres across 8 affected regions.

-The Government of the Philippines has accepted the offer of international assistance to respond to the needs of affected communities.
