NDRRMC Update: Situational Report No.02 re Floodings in Maguindanao

l. SITUATION OVERVIEW:

• 21 July 2013 - The Low Pressure Area (LPA) and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) brought frequent rains which caused the inundation of the Liguasan Marsh and other waterways like the Pulangi River and Simuay River in Maguindanao

• 22 July 2013 - Floodings in Municipalities of Sultan Kudarat, Sultan Mastura, Pagalungan, and Datu Montawal has subsided. However, Sultan Sa Barongis remained flooded

• 25 July 2013 — Seven (7) Municipalities in the Province of Maguindanao remained to be flooded namely: Pagalungan, Datu Montawal, Sultan Kuclarat, Mother Kabuntalan, Northern Kabuntalan, Datu Piang, and Mamasapano

• 30 July 2013 — The affected Municipalities increased to nineteen (19) namely: Sultan Kudarat, Datu Salibo, Shariff Saydona, Ampatuan, Shariff Aguak, Mamasapano, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Rajah Buayan, Sultan Sa Barongis/Lambayong, Datu Montawal, Datu Paglas, Pagalungan, Northern Kabuntalan, Gen SK Pendatun, Mother Kaburtalan, Buluan. Pandag, Mangudadatu, and Datu Piang

• 31 July 2013 - The Province of Maguindanao was placed under the State of Calamity thru SP-Resolution Number 05 series July 31, 2013. Likewise, the Municipality of Datu Piang was also placed under the State of Calamity thru SB-Resolution Number 0012-13, series 2013

• 02 August 2013 - Flooding in the province still persist and classes in flood-affected schools remained to be suspended. The Municipality of Paglat was added to the list of flooded Municipalities

• 03 August 2013 — The affected Municipalities increased to twenty-two (22), added to the list were the Municipalities of Datu Odin Sinsuat and Datu Saudi Ampatuan
