Monitoring Emergencies: Peru - 02/17/2017: Government sends Miltary Hospital to Tumbes and declares an health emergency in eight provinces

Due to heavy rains a state of emergency was declared for the provinces of Huarochiri, Cañete, Barranca, Yauyos, Huaral, Huaura, Oy, and Canta. The declaration indicates that response and rehabilitation will be provided to the various affected areas. The Peru Army’s Military Field Hospital is equipped with all supplies necessary to respond to the people affected by the rains and flooding and will depart this tonight to board the vessel of the Peruvian Navy ship “Eten” toward Tumbes, one of the regions most affected by the rains and that has been declared a health emergency.
