Overview

The Pakistan Nutrition Cluster in October continued nutrition services for nutritionally vulnerable populations through the implemen-tation of the Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) programs in KP/FATA, Balochistan, Punjab and Sindh provinces. The CMAM activities are based on four major components: community outreach and mobilization, Supplementary Feeding Programs (SFPs) for the treatment of Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) in children 6-59 months and Pregnant and Lactating women (PLW), Outpatient Therapeutic Feeding Programs (OTPs) for treatment of children 6-59 months with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Stabilization Centers (SCs), where SAM children with medical treatment receive treatment. Infant and Young Child feeding counsel-ing and education is integrated into all four components.

The Nutrition Cluster is currently active in three provinces (Sindh, Balochistan and KP/FATA) and at the national level.
