The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has condemned very strongly the cruel attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against the besieged Gaza Strip. He described this ugly crime against civilians and children as unjustified escalation which would lead to more tension and instability in the region, and a flagrant violation of international law.

The Secretary General holds Israel responsible for the consequences of the continuation of this crime, and called on the international community to intervene swiftly to stop this Israeli military escalation against the Palestinian people, lift the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for all its crimes.
