Summary

This report is presented pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution S-23/1 on atrocities committed by the terrorist group Boko Haram and its effects on human rights in the affected States. The resolution requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to collect information from affected States and, in close cooperation and consultation with them, prepare a report on violations and abuses of human rights and atrocities committed Boko Haram in the States affected by such acts, with a view towards accountability. On 1 July 2015, the High Commissioner for Human Rights provided an oral update on the subject to the Human Rights Council.
