Hurricane Felix barreled ashore in Nicaragua on September 4th as a Category 5 storm with 160 mph winds. In its wake, the storm left more than a hundred dead (and that number is rising) and tens of thousands without necessary food, water, sanitation facilities and shelter.

Project Concern International (PCI) is on the ground, working through our in-country staff, to provide what's needed today as well as planning for the future health and welfare requirements of the residents and their communities.

In response, we are immediately sending 24 metric tons of food to the hardest-hit storm area on that country's Atlantic coast and have dispatched a planning team from the capital of Managua to assess damage and determine our next steps in providing humanitarian assistance.
