Highlights

  • New site located in Bang lung village. This is a private location with no previous specific uses and located near a church compound. It seems that new IDPs plan to stay about one year in this place but 40 HHs may leave to a new location within the following weeks. They arrived on 18 April from 6 villages.

  • There were no WASH facilities at all prior to the arrival of IDPs in this location except three toilets from the church. The church Reverent allows IDPs to use these toilets. Temporary trenches have been built by the IDPs themselves with the support of Metta.

  • There were no proper water points prior to the arrival of IDPs. Metta installed a water intake from a surrounding stream that supply one tapstand where IDPs collect water for washing and cooking purposes. While IDPs adults are provided with safe water drinking (20 liters container from private market) it has been observed that some children drink directly water from tapstand leading to health hazards.
