Micronesia's outer atolls suffering from prolonged drought
The atolls are in the states of Chuuk, Pohnpei and Yap and local officials have proposed that Sorol atoll be added to the list of formally declared disaster areas.
In the extreme eastern part of the country, the mountainous state of Kosrae is coping with the drought by tapping newly drilled wells.
It's estimated they will supply enough water to sustain the island's population of over seven-thousand until the drought breaks.
