Mexico's Quake Leaves 2 Dead

MEXICO CITY (Aug. 10) XINHUA - There have been two dead due to a 7.0 degree earthquake on the Richter scale Wednesday morning in Michoacan state, western Mexico.

Michoacan authorities said Thursday that a three-year-old minor died after a fence fell on him, and a 62-year-old man suffered heart stoppage caused by the quake.

There were also material damages and four persons were injured owing to the quake which revived panic among Mexicans who recalled the 1985 one that left thousands dead and great material damage.

State government authorities disclosed Thursday that Lazaro Cardenas port was the Michoacan town that registered greatest material damage. Two hotels and a dozen houses as well as the Municipal Presidency showed significant damage in their structure.
