Mexico - Tropical Cyclone FRANKLIN (GDACS, NOAA, SMN, Local media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 10 August 2017)

  • Tropical Cyclone FRANKLIN continued moving westward over the Bay of Campeche and towards Veracruz State, strengthening and becoming a Hurricane.
  • Over the next 24 hours, it is forecast to move south-west crossing Veracruz and Puebla Mexico States, weakening. Heavy rain, strong winds and storm surge are possible through the Mexican states of Tabasco, northern Veracruz, northern Puebla, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, Queretaro, and eastern San Louis Potosi.
  • As of 10 August at 9.00 UTC, a Hurricane Warning is in effect for Puerto de Veracruz to Cabo Rojo.
