At least seven killed in Madagascar cyclone: state radio
As a result of cyclone Gafilo, which struck on Sunday, two people were buried in their house when it collapsed and five fishermen drowned at sea, state radio news editor Eddy Andriamanoro told AFP, summarising a bulletin broadcast earlier that relied on reports from local correspondents.
Earlier Tuesday, Interior Minister General Soha (Note Eds: no first name) said between 55,000 and 100,000 people may have been left homeless by Gafilo, which came hard on the heels of cyclone Elita that struck the same area in February.
