In June 2012, ACTED completed the selection of communities and the identification of infrastructure to be built by TASK - a consortium of international and local NGOs focusing on peace building. These were selected based on REACH, an online web mapping tool developed by Geneva-based think tank IMPACT, to identify the potential sources of tensions throughout over 125 communities in southern Kyrgyzstan, linking it with socioeconomic data. Within the next 12 months, ACTED will extend irrigation canals, provide drinking water, rehabilitate schools, and more as part of its conflict mitigation project, supported by the European Commission.
