Following the June 2010 crisis in Kyrgyzstan, and as part of the general effort towards improving coordination mechanisms and information sharing, ACTED, IMPACT and UNOSAT have signed an agreement for the production of geographic and geospatial information on Southern Kyrgyzstan (maps and analytical reports). This will help producing analytical information, to be disseminated among the aid community as a tool to both improve understanding of the situation through GIS analysis and facilitate decision making on strategic orientations.

The partnership has been very successful in order to coordinate and support the humanitarian response in South Kyrgyzstan by the international community as well as relevant governmental authorities, facilitating the production of over 60 maps on the crisis to date. Following this initial cooperation in Kyrgyzstan, ACTED, IMPACT and UNOSAT are discussing about a global partnership to replicate their partnership in other crisis, building on their strategic and operational synergies, to replicate this initiative to other potential crises and contexts.

Through their REACH project, ACTED and IMPACT are developing a tool of support to coordinate humanitarian efforts in fragile states. ACTED and IMPACT welcome the implication of UNOSAT within REACH.
