Iran offers aid for quake-stricken Italians

Tehran, April 7, IRNA - Iran's Red Crescent has announced readiness to dispatch aid to quake-stricken Italians.

Director General of International Department of Iran's Red Crescent Society Abdolraouf Adibzadeh told IRNA Tuesday that at present a 10-ton package containing 1,000 tents and 5,000 blankets has been prepared for dispatch to the country.

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit the city of l'Aquila on April 6.

According to the local sources, the quake damaged 26 cities and left more than 200 people dead and 1,500 wounded.
