As a follow up of the earthquake measuring
5.9 on the Richter scale which recently shook Qeshm Island in Hormozgan
province, IRCS relief workers are still in the scene and doing their utmost
to respond the need of the affected people. In this respect, IRCS provincial
branch of Hormozgan distributed 74,151 tins of tuna fish, 46,700 tins of
canned beans, 40,920 kgs of rice, 10,445 kgs of sugar, 16,836 kgs of edible
oil, 5,986 kgs of pulses, and 1,133 kgs of tea. In line with the aforesaid
distributed food items, some other relief items enclosing 4,696 sets of
relief tents, 5,677 sets of moquettes, 10,689 sets of blankets, 2,169n
kitchen sets, 1,477 sets of oven, 1,250 sets of lanterns and 4,001 cartons
of hygienic kits have already been distributed among the needy as well.
At the same time, a number of forces
such as 101 relief workers, 40 staff, 4 people of Public Relations enthusiastically
attended in rescue and relief operation.
It is noteworthy to mention that 3 ambulances,
46 trucks, 3 helicopters, 12 vans, 9 cars and 2 minibuses and 2 sniffer
dogs were involved within reliving measurements.
