USAID/OFDA Co-Sponsors Urban Search and Rescue Exercise in Indonesia

From May 29 to June 1, USAID/OFDA partnered with the China Earthquake Administration to co-fund an urban search and rescue (USAR) simulation in Padang, Indonesia, aimed at improving regional USAR capacity. The exercise was organized by the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Af-fairs (OCHA) International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), which holds regional training events around the world to strengthen the effectiveness and coordination of in-ternational USAR activities.
