Qatar Charity Helped Flood Victims in Jammu and Kashmir

In early October, Qatar Charity provided distribution of emergency relief assistance for the victims of the September floods in Jammu and Kashmir, northern India.
The villages of Arigatnoo and Tehsil Kulgam, District Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir were the primary distribution locations with 4,000 people benefiting from food parcels, which included rice, flour, lentils, onions, sugar and powdered milk, bread and oil, in addition to other materials such as kitchen equipment, candles and other non-food items.

This distribution (worth USD 38,000) proved extremely challenging given the heavy flooding of rivers in Jammu and Kashmir, which had caused dozens of deaths and thousands to be displaced while leaving roads, electricity and other infrastructure heavily damaged or destroyed.
