Aust Gov't promises aid to disaster victims in India and Vietnam
The Foreign Affairs Minister, Alexander Downer, says the World Food Program will be given 300-thousand dollars to help the more than one million people affected by the super-cyclone in the Indian state of Orissa.
450-thousand dollars will go to the Red Cross to assist 20-thousand families left homeless by the wost floods to hit Vietnam in 40 years.
Australia has also committed another 450-thousand dollars to help rebuild infrastructure in central Vietnam once the water subsides.
