The incessant rainfall in the upper hillside of jiri river both in Assam and Manipur and land sliding at Jirnam (name of a place falls in Assam inhabited by Zeme tribe of Assam) blocked the running river water on 26th of June2012 as a result of which the adjoining villages of Assam and Manipur were affected severely and swept away many houses at a glance. The Jiri river divides Assam and Manipur that caused the flood. The sudden landslide at Jinam (Kamachera) blocked the water of the upstream water and submerged the area and nobody of the area had any knowledge how flood is caused and the overflow of water in the upstream submerged either side of the river affecting the population of Assam and Manipur. The flood water remained from 26th June to 27th of June2012. The flood had swept away many houses, domestic animals and belongings including human being.
