NATURE OF THE DISASTER:
Situation is returning to normalcy. The water has receded in all places and currently the relief and rehabilitation process is continuing in the affected districts with the efforts of the District Administration supported by various other organizations. The details below shows the extent of damage caused by floods to the populace at large experienced in the last one month.

22 (Dhemaji, Laxhimpur, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Nagaon, Sivasagar, Golaghat, Morigaon, Darrang, Kamrup, Barpeta, Dhubri, Goalpara, Nalbari, Tinsukia, Sonitpur, Karimganj, Korkrajhar and Bongaigaon, Cachar, and Hallakandi) Karbi Anglong

Number of Villages Affected: 6560

Population affected: 5.78 million

Human Life Lost: 41

Cattle Lost: 482

Area Affected: 837,289 hectares

Houses damaged: 19,827

No. of Homeless people 5 million

Total crop area affected: 330,411 hectares
