CCF has supported Honduras's national campaign for immunization by encouraging mothers to participate and by covering the extensive transportation costs for government health personnel. As a result, 8,000 children in CCF-assisted projects have received the vaccinations they need to stave off disease.

To address rampant malnutrition, 20 drought-afflicted projects participated in an initiative to increase food production. CCF Honduras staffers taught families new methods of growing vegetables, raising chickens and composting. The success of this program has encouraged CCF to expand it to other areas.

And more than 5,000 CCF children in Honduras are now engaged in "Let's Learn Math," an innovative radio education program. CCF has contributed radios to all third-grade teachers and paid the radio station to forecast the lessons.
