Haiti

  • MSPP presented the Medical Information and Coordination Cell to health partners. All partners were advised that any new medical team wishing to work in Haiti has to be registered and approved by this Cell. Currently there are nine teams registered.

  • More than 70 organizations (NGO, INGO, UN, etc.) participating in the health group coordination meeting led by MSPP. The next meeting will be held on Monday, October 17 at PAHO/WHO.

Cuba

  • 13 aqueducts have been destroyed in the municipality of Maisi.

  • Furthermore, regarding houses, in Baracoa, 9, 210 were affected and 50 were completely destroyed; in Maisi 94% of the houses were affected; in Imias, 45% of houses were affected, in San Antonia del Sur, 33 were affected and 63 are completely destroyed; and in Moa, approximately 2,300 were affected and 163 are completely destroyed

United States

  • 34 deaths and 3,223 persons in 60 shelters.

  • There are 10 confirmed dam breaches in North Carolina and 8 in South Carolina contributing to the massive flooding occurring in both states. In addition, several hospitals remain closed
