On the 12th of April 2012 the military in Guinea Bissau carried out a coup d’état, and established a Military Command to lead the country. Following the coup there has been no functional national Government, however minimum service levels continue. Given population vulnerabilities and weak basic social service provision even before the coup, potential humanitarian scenarios exist.
