I. HIGHLIGHTs/key priorities
Floodwaters have now receded from most locations although more rain continues to fall in the wake of TC Daphne.
Access to basic services, food and assistance remains a problem with roads and bridges still damaged and water and electricity supply damaged. Results from initial damage and needs assessments are expected to provide more information on the scale of the floods impact.
The Government of Fiji has declared a State of Natural Disaster for parts of the Western Division, populated by approximately 190,000 people, and has provided a list of requested items to donor agencies based in country
The Pacific Humanitarian Team and counterparts agreed to develop a Humanitarian Action Plan by 11 April.
