Nadi town and surrounding areas has been declared the worst hit during this flash floods experienced around the country.

DISMAC Principal Officer, Pajiliai Dobui confirmed this as officials continue to assess the flooded areas around the country.

Next to Nadi is Ba, Sigatoka and Rakiraki, Tavua and Lautoka.

Mr Dobui has warned people against taking to flood waters and attempting to take bath sessions of even crossing to refrain from doing so.

'Nadi is the worst hit but it seems people in Nadi have adhered correctly to preventative measures issued by DISMAC because of the no casuality in the division,' he said.

Mr Dobui said this flood has been one of the most publicised and well announced with warning and weather updates but it seems people have not regarded it seriously.

'DISMAC would like to again strongly advised members of the public about taking our advisories seriously and not to be caught in the situation unexpectedly,' he said.

'Therefore the peoples support is greatly needed in terms of seriously considering and taking account of these warnings.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is currently in Nadi visiting the flood affected areas in the Western Division with Senior Government and DISMAC Officials.
