Nekempt JUNE 12/2012-Construction of a safe water project is underway in Haro Lemu Woreda, East Wollega Zone of Oromia State with over one million Birr, the woreda water, mines and energy office said.

Office Head, Gemechu Alemu told ENA that the project is being constructed in collaboration with the government, NGOs and the public.

Gemechu said the project will benefit more than 2500 people.

Upon completion of the project safe water service coverage will grow to 39 per cent from the present 17 per cent in the woreda.

Some residents lauded efforts of the government to increase safe water service coverage.
