Key Events

  • ARRA, UNHCR, with IOM support, are prioritizing the relocation of malnourished children and pregnant and lactating mothers from the border crossings to the refugee camps. As of 10 March, 897 malnourished children were relocated from Pagak to Leitchuor and Tierkidi camps and are receiving treatment.

  • A second meningitis outbreak is suspected in Gedo zone following reports of 35 suspected cases during the past week.

  • The Somali Regional Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Bureau (DPPB) is reporting critical water in 30 of the 69 woredas in the region.
