Clean water projects begin service in Ambalage
Maichew, April 11, 2012 (Maichew) - Clean water projects constructed in Ambalage Woreda of South Tigray Zone at a cost of two million Birr started service, the woreda water and energy office said.
Office head, Getachew Tesfamichael told ENA that the facilities are 15 wells and spring development.
He said the facilities benefited over 6,000 households in seven rural kebeles.
According to him, the facilities have raised the water coverage of the woreda to 80 from 70 percent previous.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Church Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission of Tigray Branch has covered the cost of construction.
Beneficiaries, Tuoumai Gebru, Kiros Kidanu and Nigus Adhana on their part said the project has enabled them to access clean water in their vicinity.
