14 health institutions go operational
Assela June 21/2013 Some 14 health posts constructed in Arssi Zone of Oromia State at a cost of over 6.4 million Birr have gone operational, the zonal health department said. Planning and program head with the office, Guta Tola said on Friday utmost efforts are underway to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through constructing health institutions in areas, which have no access to similar facilities. Guta said the government allocated the budget while the public contributed construction materials and labour support for construction of the facilities. He said the health facilities will increase the zonal health coverage to 95 percent from the present 85 percent. The facilities constructed in 14 localities have capacity to give service to more than 70,000 residents.
