Humanitarian funding analysis: Displacement, North Kivu, DRC - 22 October 2014

Key messages

• US$378 million of humanitarian funding has been allocated to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) so far in 2014.

• US$11 million of the 2014 total has been allocated specifically to North Kivu, of which US$1 million went to Beni in June 2014.

• The United States (US), European Commission (EC) and United Kingdom (UK) are the top three humanitarian donors to DRC in 2014, and also feature as the top three between 2012 and 2014.

• US$832 million has been requested through the UN - coordinated strategic response plan ( SRP) for DRC in 2014. Only 38% of requirements have been funded so far (US$314 million).

• US$2 million has been allocated to DRC from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) in 2014, all in response to the Ebola virus.

• US$23 million in funding is availab le through DRC’s Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF), of which US$16 million has so far been allocated. CHF funding is significantly lower than in previous years – US$99 million in 2012 and US$84 million in 2013.
