The Democratic Republic of Congo says international media broadcasts in the country are to be blocked.
A Government spokesman and Information Minister, Raphael Ghenda, says all foreign radio broadcasts are being cut for an indefinite period.

He says the move has been triggered by a disinformation campaign involving certain foreign media, which he accused of trying to undermine the country's government.

The main international stations present on the country's airwaves are the British Broadcasting Corporation, Radio France Internationale and the Voice of America.

The move comes as a long-delayed United Nations mission to investigate the alleged massacre of Rwandan refugees, is poised to get underway.
