MCC this April is sending some 177 metric tons of canned meat to North Korea, a record amount. Last year, North Korea received some 135 metric tons of MCC canned meat in a springtime shipment. "Canning continues to grow, and the needs in North Korea are huge," said Paul Pereverzoff, MCC's material resources manager. April in North Korea is usually a difficult time of year when food stores from the previous year's harvest begin to be depleted.
