Thanks to the United Nations' Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), WFP is able to provide continued food assistance to communities affected by the floods in DPR Korea.

Initially providing emergency food rations good for 14 days to 102,000 flood victims, WFP, with a grant of more than US$650,000 from the UN's CERF, is now able to extend its food assistance to 25 days.

Communities affected by the recent floods receive emergency food assistance for 25 days comprising 10 kilos of maize per person. Though WFP has released emergency food from its own stocks, around 4,000 tons of cereals are still required to continue emergency food distribution, pre-positioning of food stocks and early recovery Food for Community Development projects in the country.
